Cysts vary
An ovarian cyst is a fluid-filled or partly solid sac in or on an ovary. Some are related to the normal cycle and settle on their own; others need follow-up.
Possible symptoms
- Pelvic pain or heaviness
- Bloating or pressure
- Pain during intercourse
- Changes in periods
- No symptoms at all
When urgent care matters
Sudden severe pelvic pain, particularly with vomiting, faintness or fever, needs urgent medical assessment.
